Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf
has been offered a job in Washington leading the Middle East
Institute, sources said.
The Pakistan Dawn reported Sunday that Musharraf arrived in
the United States earlier this month. Last week, he
reportedly spent three days in Washington where he met
American scholars, think-tank experts and friends.
The former military leader left for
Pakistan from New York on Saturday evening.
The institute's former head, former U.S.
ambassador to Pakistan Wendy Chamberlain, said Musharraf
should be the institute's next scholar-in-residence on
Pakistan.
Dawn reported that sources say Musharraf
seems interested in the post.
