President al-Assad Receives Copy of the New Draft Constitution

  DAMASCUS, (SANA)- President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday received a copy of the new draft constitution from the head of the National Committee charged with drafting a new constitution for the Syrian Arab Republic, during a meeting with the Committee’s members. President al-Assad is to review the draft constitution and refer it to the People’s Assembly before putting it to referendum.

Armed Terrorist Groups Burglarize the Agricultural Bank, Abduct a Colonel in Homs

HOMS, (SANA) - An armed terrorist group on Sunday burglarized the Agricultural Bank in al-Qseir city in Homs Countryside. An official source told SANA reporter that the terrorist group wreaked havoc on the furniture and other contents and stole SYP 1 million, 4 computers and a television. In al-Qarabees neighborhood in Homs, another armed terrorist group abducted Colonel Issam Fayyad al-Numan from a bus while he was on way to his workplace at al-Assad Academy of Military Engineering. Hezbollah Condemns Aleppo Terrorist Blasts

Al-Qaeda Behind Damascus and Aleppo Terrorist Bomb Attacks

US officials said that al-Qaeda is behind the twin terrorist bomb blasts which ripped through Damascus on December 23rd 2011, saying it is likely that the twin terrorist attacks which hit Aleppo on Friday are likewise the work of al-Qaeda. In statements published by the US McClatchy newspaper, the US officials said their information are based on reports by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) which is conducting special investigations on al-Qaeda branch in Iraq mounting terrorist attacks in Syria. Saudi Spy Arrested in Syria

    A Saudi spy named Nasser al-Ariqi was arrested in Homs after clashes erupted between Syrian forces and armed gangs on Saturday. Al-Ariqi has been said to be the commander of a heavily armed terrorist group in the city in Western Syria. The Lebanese media reports said that the armed group has been trying to remove the Syrian army’s security checkpoints using heavy weaponry.
